I am Saïd, 35 years old, and I grew up in Vlissingen: from the local sports field in the neighborhood to an international player in the Dutch Futsal team. With 102 caps and twelve years of experience in the national team, I look back on my sports career with pride. Vlissingen has shaped me, both as an athlete and as a person, and I still carry that connection with me every day.
Today, I apply the same passion and discipline to the youth in our city. I want to inspire them to believe in themselves, discover their talents, and seize opportunities, both on and off the field. As a proud resident of Vlissingen, I am eager to give back to the city that has given me so much.

From the small football pitch in the neighborhood to the international stage, Saïd is our Vlissingen football legend. With 102 international appearances, 12 years in the Dutch Futsal team, and an appointment as a knight of the KNVB, he has a career that we as a city can be proud of. But no matter how big the stage became, he always remained that boy from Vlissingen.
When you walk through the neighborhood with Saïd, you notice it immediately. Greetings everywhere, a chat by the field where it all began. He grew from Vlissingen to become an international player and traveled the world. Now he is committed to the next generation. Through Neighborhood Teams Vlissingen, YouChoose, and as an ambassador for the Youth Fund, he helps young people move forward, both on and off the field.
His message: Dare to dream and keep getting up.
In his tips, he shares his favorite street soccer fields, outdoor sports spots, and healthy take-away places, but also nice places to live and relax with family and friends.
