On a mini-vacation with the Westerschelde Ferry
Step aboard and feel the salty breeze through your hair. As the Westerschelde stretches out before you, immense ocean-going vessels pass closely by on one of the busiest shipping routes in the world.
Your holiday feeling starts the moment you step on board! With our two ships, the Prins Willem-Alexander and the Prinses Máxima, you will be on the other side of the Westerschelde in about 25 minutes. Perfect to combine with your day out.
A fun day trip from Vlissingen
Along the way, there is plenty to see. From the water, you have a wonderful view of the Western Scheldt and you will pass sailboats and enormous container ships. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a seal along the way! On board, you can buy coffee and tea, and there are snack vending machines. Once across, you can walk from the terminal to the lively center of Breskens in about 20 minutes. Prefer to explore a bit further? Bring your bicycle and pedal toward Groede, Cadzand, or Sluis.
At the end of the day, you simply step back on board for your return journey to Vlissingen. That way, a day trip across the water quickly feels like a mini-vacation.
A real adventure for kids
For children, the crossing is a real adventure! They receive a special children's passport with assignments at the ticket counter and can collect a sticker with every crossing. Completed the savings card? Then they will receive a small surprise upon handing in the passport at the counter. Did you know that we also regularly organize events around both terminals and on board? Think of a guide or music on board, or a fun children's morning with glitter tattoos and a face painter. Check westerscheldeferry.nl/evenementen for the program.
