Over Bunkermuseum

Het Bunkermuseum Vlissingen is gevestigd in een gerestaureerde observatiebunker naast de Oranjemolen op de Groene Boulevard. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog maakte deze bunker deel uit van de Atlantikwall en werd hij gebruikt om de scheepvaart op de Westerschelde in de gaten te houden. De originele pantserkoepel en verschillende historische voorwerpen geven een goed beeld van deze bijzondere periode.

Een bezoek aan het museum laat zien welke belangrijke rol Vlissingen speelde tijdens de oorlog. Dankzij de bijzondere locatie, vlak bij het voormalige landingsstrand van de geallieerde troepen, komen geschiedenis en de omgeving hier op een indrukwekkende manier samen.
