On the edge of the Ritthemse forest, close to the Western Scheldt, lies Camping Karnemelkshoek. A place where you can truly relax and enjoy the surrounding space. This cozy campsite is ideal for cyclists, hikers, and young families who want to discover the best of Walcheren.
From the campsite, you can easily hop on your bike or put on your hiking boots for one of the many routes through Walcheren and the Zak van Zuid-Beveland. A trip to Zeeuws-Vlaanderen is also within reach thanks to the bicycle-foot ferry from Vlissingen.
In no time, you'll be on the beach, where you can not only sunbathe or swim, but also search for shark teeth and fossils. Dogs are welcome here year-round to roam freely. From the beach, you can easily walk into the Ritthem forest, heading towards the special Rammekens area. Here you'll find Fort Rammekens, the oldest sea fort in Western Europe. In collaboration with organizations like Staatsbosbeheer and the Muzeeum, interesting guided tours are regularly organized.
During the season, there's always something to do at the campsite. From small-scale activities to typical Zeeland events such as tractor pulling in Ritthem and the traditional ring riding competition, fun for all ages and free for guests to attend.
The campsite also has a cozy inn with a terrace. Here you can enjoy a drink or a snack after a day in the fresh air. It is also the perfect place to connect with locals and other visitors, and to get tips on the most beautiful places and activities in the area.
Whether you come for relaxation, nature, or an active holiday: at Camping Karnemelkshoek, you'll experience the Zeeland coast at its best. You are most welcome!
