Over De Vissersvrouw

Het standbeeld De Vissersvrouw kijkt uit over de Westerschelde, alsof ze wacht op de terugkeer van de schepen. Het kunstwerk, gemaakt door beeldhouwer Herman Bisschop, symboliseert de verbondenheid van Vlissingen met de zee en de vissers die vroeger hun brood op het water verdienden.

Dankzij de bijzondere ligging aan de Oranjedijk is het een populaire plek om even stil te staan en te genieten van het uitzicht. De Vissersvrouw herinnert bezoekers aan het maritieme verleden van Vlissingen en de mensen die daar deel van uitmaakten.
