What is there to do?

On May 4, 2026, the annual Remembrance of the Dead ceremony will be held at the Northern Cemetery in Vlissingen.

The commemoration begins at 7:45 PM. The Royal Harmony "Ons Genoegen" will provide the music, and students from the Scheldemond College will recite poems. 

During the commemoration, flowers will be laid at the main monument. Prior to the commemoration, the College of Mayor and Aldermen will lay flowers at the various war memorials in the cemetery.

Prior to the commemoration, the council of churches will host an ecumenical memorial service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home located at Van Dishoeckstraat 620.

Just like last year, we invite our residents and institutions to fly the flag at half-mast all day on May 4th, in line with the guideline from the National Committee 4 and 5 May.
