The story goes that Bach wrote his Goldberg Variations at the behest of friend AND Count Hermann Carl von Kaiserling. He often lay awake at night in pain. To ease his insomnia a little, he asked Bach to compose music. Bach composed an aria with 30 beautiful variations, which will be performed this afternoon by the Platner Trio.
"A great love of music and passion for playing chamber music in particular." This is what Eefje Habraken, Anne Huser and Daniel Petrovitsch share. They got to know each other in the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. After playing together in various ensembles, they decided to form the Platner Trio together in 2022. The name Platner refers to the Italian builder of Daniel's cello: Michael Platner. Playing chamber music, in addition to their love of symphonic repertoire, is an even more direct way to communicate with each other and the audience.

"Goldberg" The story goes that Johann Sebastian Bach wrote his Goldberg Variations by order of friend and count Hermann Carl von Kaiserling. Count von Kaiserling was frequently ill and often lay awake at night in pain. To ease his insomnia somewhat, he asked Bach to compose music that would cheer him up during these nights. Bach composed an aria with 30 beautiful variations. At the time this composition was completed, Count Von Kaiserling employed a young harpsichordist, Johann Gottlieb Goldberg. At night, the young harpsichordist played the variations for hours in the adjoining room next to the count's bedroom. To him this brilliant composition owes its name.
