We know it or say it going forward: This is a celebratory, inspiring and unifying event. The alto sings it to us in no. 9 (Novello) : “elevator up thy voice with strength, elevator it up, be not afraid.” How beautiful that is. A day of hard rehearsal and then an impressive performance. All under the direction of Jules van Hessen, conductor and inspiration. You are cordially invited and feel free to bring family, friends and acquaintances.
This anniversary edition will, of course, be a big party. It will also be the last one, so don't miss it. The last one? Ah no, how can it be?
Nevertheless, this is a conscious decision by the board. We are reaching a wonderful milestone. After such a high point, little is left to be desired, both musically and organizationally.
The level of musicianship has risen sharply over the years and of course we hope for another glorious anniversary edition, a “best ever.” Much will also be the same this time, but on the day itself we will certainly add more color to the event. Be surprised.
