There will also be some breathtaking covers from the late greats who helped shape his career.
Tony's new album 'A New Life' has been out since March 2025. The album was recorded in Nashville, where he transformed his biggest hits and fan-favorite album tracks into country style.
Over Tony Christie Tony Christie (also known as Anthony Fitzgerald) is a legend in the music world. He has had a glorious career spanning over 60 years and is still ‘going strong’.
The 70s were a glorious period for Tony, during which he sold over 10 million records and became a national sensation. In the 80s, the pace may have slowed slightly, but his star status remained undiminished: he was awarded 'Die Golden Europa', a prestigious German radio prize for exceptional showmanship.
In the 90s, a new wave of success followed with hits like ‘Sweet September’ and ‘Walk Like a Panther’, written by Jarvis Cocker. Later, a whole new generation of young people rediscovered Tony’s music thanks to ‘(Is This the Way to) Amarillo’ and ‘Avenues and Alleyways’, which gained iconic status through Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights.
Today, Tony is still known as the king of British music – one of the most striking and beloved solo artists the United Kingdom has ever produced. His repertoire effortlessly moves between country, folk, easy listening, and even a touch of classical (So Deep Is the Night). But above all, he has secured a firm place in pop music.
