U2two - the U2 tribute band that captured playing time at Ziggo Dome Amsterdam in the popular TV program "The Tribute - Battle of the Bands," is bringing - against many expectations - the world-famous Irish rock band to the theater with an intimate, sensitive and yet energetic combination of concert and performance. Now, under the collective name "Boy to Surrender" - named after the first released U2 album "Boy" and the most recently released album "Songs of Surrender" (2023) - the band comes with part 2 of the impressive U2 theater show.
The overall show is based on Bono's solo theater show in which he presented his autobiografie "Surrender - 40 songs, 1 story" in late 2022 in several major theaters around the world. Like Bono at the time, Sam as "Bono" also presents the evening himself. In addition to U2's fantastic music - which has not been skimped on - he tells short anecdotes, surprising "U2 facts" in between, and sometimes comes up with impressive and hilarious statements Bono himself once made.
PART 2 - The band announced during the 1st show that their initial plan was to capture all the wonderful songs and hits in one show. However, the magnitude of the large number of U2 songs that fall within this selection made it impossible to leave it at one part. "Boy to Surrender"- part 2 continues where part 1 left off namely from the album "Rattle and Hum".
With part 1 of the show, the audience was totally surprised by the special content, seƫting and composition: in part 2 it will be no different. Once again, the band offers a high level of emotion and entertainment that make this U2 theater show different from any other theater show brought about U2 in the years. The band will now play songs such as "One," Mysterious Ways," "Beautiful Day," "The Sweetest Thing" and, as in part 1, will perform a number of songs in a beautiful way using only piano, cello and violin.
What makes U2two and this show so special is the way the band members approach U2 themselves to perfection. In appearance but especially in sound and playing with the voice of Sam "Bono" Kramer being absolutely unique. All this makes you imagine yourself in the presence of Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. himself every now and then. Thereby transforming you during the show from enthusiastic listener to the indispensable 5th band member and so you are the key to a fantastic musical experience for yourself but certainly also for the band!
The U2 theater show...an evening of peace but also energy...an evening of memories of times where music and togetherness went hand in hand...an evening where you can bring your whole family with peace of mind to let them experience a piece of your past and most of all: a still somewhat affordable evening of theater where quality or production has not been compromised.
