Valentine's Day at the Maritime Museum Zeeland: visitors on a speed date with a painting.
On Saturday, February 14th, the Maritime Museum Zeeland is celebrating Valentine's Day with a special activity: a speed date with a painting. Visitors will get to know a work of art from the museum's collection in short, personal encounters – and discover if there's a connection.
Participants first have a short intake with loveguides Angel en Jopie: Museum guides playfully guide visitors on their date. Together they discover which painting best suits them: a beautiful portrait, or perhaps a seascape? Based on interests, feelings, and first impressions, a surprising match arises between visitor and painting.
‘We want to show that art doesn't have to be distant or complicated,’ says Joke Backx of the Maritime Museum Zeeland. ‘By literally dating art, we invite visitors to follow their feelings. And besides, everyone deserves some loving attention on Valentine's Day.‘
The activity is free and open to everyone. You can participate alone, as a couple, with a friend, or with your family.
