A Violin AffairOde to the Violin)
When the help of the violinist and his instrument is called upon, you know something special is about to follow; romantic, emotional, or mysterious feelings are being interpreted. In this important role, the violin transcends all musical styles, and you'll hear it in classical music, gypsy music, Argentinian tango, film scores, and French chansons.
‘A Violin Affair’ is an invitation to the listener to experience all of this music in their own way. With the violin in the leading role (played by the versatile violinist Micha Molthoff), accompanied by piano and guitar, captivating and familiar sounds and themes from ‘The Godfather’and you'll hear famous pieces by Bach, Brel, Barbara, Piazzolla, and also virtuosic gypsy music.
Violist Micha Molthoff began his career in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, performed in various productions by the theater group Orkater, and collaborated with (inter)national artists such as Ute Lemper, Herman van Veen, and Toon Hermans. His music can be heard in various films and theater productions. ‘A Violin Affair’ is Micha Molthoff’s third solo program, following the successful tours of his previous works respectively. ‘A Fiddler on his route’Fifty Shades of Fiddle’
