About Meijer's Frituur<\/h2>\n

Since May 1, 2025, a fresh but familiar wind blows through the Scheldestraat. Meijer's Frituren, for decades a household name in Vlissingen, has been taken over by Jacqueline Kalter, her son Danny and daughter-in-law. What began as a fluke grew into a cherished family project in which craft, meeting and memory are central.<\/p>\n

Jacqueline, born in Flushing, had been away from the city for 20 years, but returned in September 2024. She stopped by Meijers more often for her favorite fries, until one day she found herself in front of a closed door. \"I saw the 'for sale' sign up and thought: what will be in here next? Then it started itching. My children immediately said: this is really for you.\" And so it happened.<\/p>\n

Although the business is officially in the name of Jacqueline and her daughter-in-law, it grew into a family business. Son Danny, from industry but with the heart of a restaurateur, also joined in. \"He loves it. This business fits him completely,\" Jacqueline says proudly. \"We do everything together: from cutting the potatoes to making our famous nasi croquettes and the classic Meijer sauce. All homemade.\"<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n
