Vlissingen's boulevard is perhaps the city's most famous spot, and rightly so. Especially at the imposing statue of naval hero Michiel de Ruyter, the view is spectacular. From here you look out over the Westerschelde. Gigantic container ships, naval vessels and sailboats sail so close you can almost wave to the crew.<\/p>\n

The image of Michiel de Ruyter himself adds an extra dimension: this historical admiral defended the Dutch fleet in the 17th century. So it's not just a place to look at ships, but also to pause and reflect on the rich maritime history of Vlissingen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n
