This five-piece band is rapidly conquering the Netherlands after a resounding success in Belgium.
With a sparkling mix of post-punk, disco, glam rock, new wave, and electroclash, the Lizard themselves on that fault line between comedy and tragedy. Songs that unfold like a comedic play and the cacophony behind the scenes. The debut album Que Se Passe t-il is a diorama where heartbreakers, voyeurs, escapists, and dreamers mingle under a shattered disco ball. Lézard aimlessly turns the camera on themselves: what on earth is going on on this big blue rock?
Met Lizards first series of singles, the uplifting "Nothing At All" As a starting shot, Lézard rapidly became a sensational live act.
Festivals on the Reeperbahn, the MaMA Festival, The Great Escape, Nurnberg Pop, Left of the Dial, Pukkelpop, Best Kept Secret, Eurosonic, and Radiance had to give in, and now the Belgian band is going Lézard performs as a Zeeland premiere at pop venue De Piek in Vlissingen !
What happens when you can call something both a breakup and a comeback album: the five souls that form Lézard have meanwhile left the party phase in the rearview mirror. All the spirits and fragments of those hazy nights have been sucked up and compressed, only to be released again in contrarian disco-punk that dominates body and mind in a turbulent way.
Support act Chouchou is here. Plays only original music, adventurous, eclectic, sometimes contrarian, nostalgic. Think 80s and hip hop at the same time with a sound that balances raw energy and playful finesse. Angular grooves, danceable rhythms and quirky melodies that stick without becoming predictable.
In short, with the delightful sound of bands Lézard and Chouchou est là, Friday, November 13th will be an exceptionally musical evening at De Piek!
