Sports Group celebrates half a century in 2026. It is also the year in which the band, originally from The Hague, will embark on a final tour of pop venues and festivals. “We are still doing well and want to take our leave from the stage at our peak. That's why one last unforgettable tour.”, according to singer/guitarist Hans Vandenburg. To add his typical joke: “Stop motion before we have to be admitted long-term...”

Besides the characteristic frontman and creative force Vandenburg, the lineup consists of singers Lies Schilp & Inge Bonthond aka Bombitas. The keyboardist is the youthful talent Len de Quant, who in 2024 took over from his proud mentor and prematurely deceased Peter Calicher. Of course, original member and drummer Max Mollinger, as well as bassist Tim Barning, are back.

Hey Girl, Beep Beep Love, Disco Really Made It, and Tokyo en Rock ‘n Roll are a few of the Nederpop classics we can expect. But knowing Gruppo Sportivo, the legendary band will also make some quirky choices from their extensive repertoire.
