The route starts at the Machinefabriek in the Scheldt Quarter. Currently, you can park in the parking lot next to the Machinefabriek. In the future, a parking garage will be built in the Machinefabriek.

From the starting point you have a direct view of the iconic Scheldt crane, one of the landmarks of the Scheldekwartier.

Cross over toward Albion Quay and walk along the water toward the former Carpentry. Then turn left onto Willem Ruysstraat. You’ll walk past the historic Damen Naval building, which serves as a reminder of Vlissingen’s shipbuilding history.

Turn left at Scheldt Wharf Museum. Here you'll pass the historic steam crane, a tangible reminder of the shipyard's activities in days gone by.

At the end of the path, turn right onto the Jan Weugkade. Then take the first street on the left. On the right-hand side, you will see the former slipway of the shipyard. Via the Peperdijk and the Vrijgang, you walk towards the Walstraat.

Cross over to Kolvenierstraat and walk straight ahead to Torenstraat. Here you can sailor's uniformVisit Cornelia Quack’s Hofje, a monumental almshouse. Continue your route via Torenstraat to Lange Zelke.

Turn right and at the end you will come out onto Spuistraat. Turn left here and then take Marktstraat on the left. You will now reach the Oude Markt, where the impressive St. James' Church state.

Continue along Kerkstraat toward Bellamy Park, the vibrant heart of the city center.

On Bellamypark you will find various hospitality venues, the fountain and Reptile Zoo Iguana. Continue walking toward Koopmanshaven, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the harbor and the historic cannons along the waterfront.

Then cross the lock and pass the statue of The Fisherman's Wife across the top.

Follow the route via the Oranjedijk along the historical Orange Mill and the nearby bunker. From here, you have a beautiful view of the Westerschelde.

Walk further along Uncle Beach and then take the stairs down the other side of the dike towards Landingsstraat.

Follow Paardenstraat until the intersection with Palingstraat. Walk down Palingstraat all the way to Hendrikstraat.

Here you reach Perry's Dock, where the museum ship Mercuur is moored. Continue along the route to the Houtkade, where the distinctive hotel boat Emma is located.

Next, cross the Dokbrug to the Jan Weugkade.
